911 systems in Albany, Saratoga counties go down

October 6, 2017
Associated Press

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities in two neighboring upstate New York counties are trying to determine what caused their local 911 systems to stop working.

Officials in Albany and Saratoga county say their emergency dispatch systems went down early Friday morning. Albany County's 911 system was back online shortly before 11 a.m.

Saratoga County's system remains down late Friday morning. The county's 911 calls are being handled by dispatchers with the state police and the sheriff's office in neighboring Washington County.

Albany County Sherriff Craig Apple says his department is trying to figure out what caused the outage.
